Fire Hits Part of Gul Khana Palace

Kabul- Gul Khana Palace of Presidential Palace compound was hit by fire last with no major damages, Officials confirmed on Thursday.
Confirming the unpleasant incident, Haroon Chakhansuri, a spokesman for president said, “Firefighters arrived at the scene on time and prevented major damages”.
The office desk of king Amanullah Khan and historical documents and materials were prevented from being burnt, he added.
The spokesman didn’t pass comments what caused the fire.
Gul Khana is situated on north-west side of the Arg, which was built with a new style in the term of King Mohammad Zahir.
Chief of Staff’s office of the president, Secretariat rooms, resting room, two rooms for special meetings also exist in this palace.
The country’s President often holds meetings and gatherings at Gul Khana Palace. So, President Ashraf Ghani should launch a critical and comprehensive inquiry into the matter and supervise it to bring the culprits to the book and prevent alike unpleasant incidents in future.
whether, it was a natural or man-made disaster and, is there any message behind it are the questions in minds of many.
Critical inquiry into the matter, highlighting the weaknesses in the present system in the Palace and proposing alternatives is needed.
