Afghan Commandos killed Key Taliban commander in Paktika

Kabul- Afghan commandos killed a key Taliban commander in eastern Paktika province last night, defense ministry said Tuesday.

Bilal Zadran was head of Taliban’s “special forces” unit or Red Unit for Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Khost and Logar, said Ghafoor Ahmad Jawed, a spokesman for Afghan defense ministry.

He played a major role in insecurity in the provinces, he said.

Jawed said that 36 Taliban militants including commander, Ikramuddin, were killed in a special operation in Maiwand district of Kandahar province last night
