Blast In Pakistan Leaves Four Policemen Dead
At least four policemen were killed when a blast occurred n a market in Quetta’s Satellite town on Monday night, Quetta police said.
Quetta Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that a police van was damaged, and two policemen and seven civilians were wounded in the blast, Dawn news reported.
According to the DIC, the blast was due to improvised explosives device (IED) planted in motorcycle parked on the road.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claims responsibility for the attack.
This comes after a bomb targeting police outside a major Sufi shrine in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore on Wednesday last week and killed several people and wounded dozens, Reuters said in a report.
The blast, one day after the beginning of Ramadhan, took place close to the Data Darbar, one of the largest shrines in South Asia, the report said.
