Cricket World Cup In Two Weeks As Afghanistan Preparing

Afghanistan will play their second World Cup after they debuted in the competition four years ago in Australia and New Zealand. 

The World Cup gets underway on Thursday, May 30, when the Proteas take on England at The Oval in London.

Granted official Test status in 2017, Afghanistan is a cricket nation showing continuous rapid improvement.

They won the 2018 World Cup qualifier tournament, beating the West Indies in the final, to book their ticket to England and Wales.

The team to left Scotland on Thursday to Ireland to play against the host two ODI matches which will start May 19 and 21.

Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan, the two key Afghan players will also join the team who missed the first ODI matches against Scotland.

Nabi and Rashid have missed the ODI matches due to duty in the Indian Primer League for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Afghanistan beat Scotland in rain-hit game by two runs and thanks to Rahmat Shah who hit 113 while Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Shahzad made half-centuries.
