Key Commanders Of Taliban Killed In Logar Airstrikes: MoD

At least nine key commanders of the Taliban were killed in Afghan forces airstrikes in the central province of Logar on Thursday night, a spokesman for Ministry of Defense (MoD), Rohullah Ahmadzai, said on Friday. 

Among those killed are Haji Lala, Taliban’s designated governor for Logar and his two deputies, Taliban’s designated head of intelligence for Ghazni, Logar, Khost, Paktia and Kabul provinces, Mawlawi Shams-ur-Rahman, he said.

Four other Taliban commanders, including foreign citizens, were also killed in the airstrikes, Ahmadzai said.

He said that 12 Taliban fighters were wounded in the airstrikes.
