Two sentenced to death for killing Afghan journalist Abdul Manan Arghund
Arghund, who worked with private TV channel Kabul News, was killed by gunmen while he was travelling to his office in southern Kandahar city.
Two people were arrested in connection with the incident, who were given death penalty 10 days ago, the Attorney General’s Office said in a statement.
The statement said that the case was shifted to Kabul following request by the victim’s family and Afghanistan Journalist Federation.
It said that more than 50 cases of violence against journalists have been addressed by the Attorney General’s Office.
Manan was among 17journalists who were killed in Afghanistan in 2018, the deadliest year for journalists.
