U.S. envoy for Afghan peace heads to China after concluding talks with Taliban in Qatar
The U.S. envoy for Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad headed to China on Tuesday after concluding talks with Taliban in Qatar.
Ambassador Khalilzad informed regarding the conclusion of 7th round of talks by posting a short statement on Twitter.
Khalilzad further added that he had a meeting with the leaders in Qatar this morning.
Furthermore, he said he will return to Washington to report and consult on Afghan peace process after China trip.
The seventh round peace talks between U.S. and Taliban representatives kicked off in Doha late last month.
Both U.S. and Taliban leaders paused the peace talks on Sunday and Monday due to the intra-Afghan dialogue on peace process.
